This is John Rhodes and this is the 49th Mystic Babylon Open Mike Poetry Podcast/TV Show broadcasting from near the Haight in San Francisco.
This is the second poetry special that I have had through Cable Access 29 San Francisco. You can go here: http://accessf.org/guide/schedule to find out when the show is running again as a re-run here in San Francisco. Please check every two days or so because that’s how often they update it.
I am having two poets read besides me. They are Paul Watsky and Adele Mendelson.
Paul Watsky is a well-known poet of the open Mikes of San Francisco and is well-published. You can find more about him at: http://www.paulwatskypoetry.com .
Adele Mendelson was born in Cleveland, Ohio. When she turned 18 she ran off to New York City with her boyfriend. Later she followed the excitement to San Francisco. She became a flower child and lived in a Haight Ashbury commune. She also managed to finish college and began a teaching career at the University of California at Berkeley. She married, had two children, who grew up, and then she moved to the East Bay. Currently she lives in the Rockridge area of Oakland across from the Dept. of Motor Vehicles. She has written two chapbooks, “Gardens” and “Only in a Body”.
